Fixed Asset Management

The Fixed Asset Management system extends Business Central's standard fixed asset functionality with municipal-specific features including rental property management, depreciation calculations, and asset allocation by department.

Accessing Fixed Assets

Navigate to Municipality Systems > Assets from the Municipal Manager Role Center, or use the standard Fixed Assets menu in Business Central.

Infrastructure Assets
  • Roads and Streets: Municipal road infrastructure

  1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Setup > FA Subclasses

Rental Property Management

  1. Create the Fixed Asset record

  2. Navigate to Rental Properties from the FA card

Creating Rental Periods
  1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Rental > Rental Periods

  2. Click New to create a rental period

    • Period Code: Unique identifier (e.g., "2025-01")

    • Description: Period description

    • Start Date: Period beginning

    • End Date: Period end

    • Status: Active, Closed, or Cancelled

Rental Period Processing

Monthly rental processing includes:

  1. Generate Rental Invoices: Create invoices for all active rentals
